Tips on How to Write Wedding Vows That Wow
Wednesday the 13th of January
Writing your own wedding vows can be a very special way to personalize your wedding ceremony.
While writing your vows should be taken seriously, as you will remember these words you shared for many years to come, there are also ways to make them lighthearted. Here are a few things to consider as you sit down to write the words you will be saying in
front of your family and friends.
Think about the important things you would like to promise your partner. You may want to somehow incorporate things like trust, honesty, patience and loyalty.
Feel free to include a quote, or the lyrics from a favorite love song. What are the things you most admire in your fiance? How did you feel when you first met? What have you learned from being with this person? How do you feel when you are with each other? Was there a very funny or special moment that brought you closer together?
If you have been together during a difficult time in each other's lives, now may be a good time to express how much it meant to you to have that person's love and support.
Last but not least, be sure to practice saying your vows before your big day. Say them to each other, or if you want them to be a surprise, practice in front of a mirror or with a friend so you are comfortable with the words.
Even if you get choked up, as long as the words are coming from your heart, it will be a treasured moment for all in attendance.
