Spring is in the Air
Tuesday the 1st of April
Spring is finally here! The birds are out and the trees are blossoming. Its the perfect time of year for a bridal shower. We just created a beautiful Spring themed bridal shower in March for one of our brides-to-be, Rebecca.
It was held at this lovely little French Country bistro in Morristown called Pierre's. They serve a fantastic buffet complete with homemade salads, quiche, poached salmon, fresh roasted turkey, and loin of pork. Their Alsace Room was the perfect spot for the shower and complimented the pastel color scheme perfectly. Everyone had a great time and the bride-to-be was so excited to spend a wonderful day with her family and friends.
Here are some ways to make a bridal shower special and memorable:
We made sure Rebecca was treated like Queen for the day. Her table was set with a rose and wheat grass centerpiece that was different from the other tables. Her seat was marked by yellow and white daisy balloons. At her place setting, she received a special blue daisy arrangement (her favorite flowers), a cute Skittles dispenser (her favorite candy), and a special blue (her favorite color) champagne cocktail.
Get Creative
No need to have a cookie cutter bridal shower. Have fun with a theme! We wanted to welcome in Spring at this shower so we named all the tables after different Spring flowers and decorated everywhere we could with flowers and butterflies. We made seating cards from vintage crepe paper baskets and decorated them with vintage paper butterflies and forget-me-nots. The baskets were filled with pastel colored M&Ms and placed on a tray of wheat grass.
The Wishing Well ~ Some Alternatives
I don't know about you but we are thinking that the traditional wishing well at bridal showers has been overdone. How about coming up with some new ideas and create a specific theme of items for your guests to provide.
We decided that there was to be no wishing well at this shower. Instead, we decided to
play on the bride-to-be's love of the lottery and have a "Pot of Luck." Each guest was asked to bring a scratch-off lottery ticket with them. This also worked out perfectly since St. Patrick's Day was the day after the shower! Rebecca had the best time scratching off all the tickets in hopes of winning a jackpot to help pay for that upcoming wedding. : )
That's all for now. Enjoy the nice weather and get outdoors.
Happy Planning!
Priscilla
