Celebrate Christmas at Gaylord National Resort
Wednesday the 15th of December
Looking for a quick weekend holiday getaway that has something for everyone? Look no further than the Gaylord National Resort just minutes from Washington D.C.. Located in the new National Harbor complex in Maryland, this resort features gourmet restaurants, shopping, an indoor pool, a rooftop ultra-lounge, and a 20,000 square foot spa and fitness center. Its amazing 18-story glass atrium provides spectacular views of the Potomac River and Washington D.C. skyline.
There is no better time to visit Gaylord National then at Christmastime. Their Christmas on the Potomac celebration, which runs until January 9th, is nothing short of spectacular. Amazing light and fountain shows are featured in the atrium, you can have breakfast with the Grinch, and it even snows in the lobby!
Definitely the centerpiece of the celebration is the ICE! Complex. This 15,000 square foot interactive winter wonderland features the beloved Dr. Seuss tale of How the Grinch Stole Christmas built entirely out of ice sculptures created by dozens of artisans from Harbin, China.
National Harbor also has amazing restaurants and shops including an awesome Peep Store for candy lovers and the absolutely gorgeous Grace’s Mandarin Restaurant that boasts some of the best Asian food anywhere. Future plans for National Harbor include a Disney Resort! (Priscilla is already planning her trip here!)
The Gaylord Resort and National Harbor are also unique spots for destination weddings or special events. You can host a fabulous event either at the resort, on the harbor with sweeping views at the Sunset Room, or outside under gorgeous tents right on the Piers.
