As Platinum Preferred Professionals of Weddings of Distinction NJ, The Finishing Touch decided to venture out and meet some of our WOD family! We had a blast when we stopped in at Aqua Bleu Salon located on Long Beach Boulevard in Ship Bottom, NJ.

Aqua Bleu is a full service salon offering hair, nail and skin treatments. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our stylists, Billie and Michelle, who were super sweet and friendly. The salon’s modern and fun decor had a fresh beach vibe that made you feel relaxed and ready to enjoy the whole experience.

Along with hair/nail/skin packages, they also offer amazing bridal packages for hair and make up for the bride and all of her bridesmaids, so if you are planning on a Long Beach Island wedding, this is the place to go! On Tuesday, January 18th, the official launch of the New Jersey/New York Metro area chapter of Wish Upon A Wedding was held at the beautiful Estate at Florentine Gardens in River Vale, NJ. Wish Upon A Wedding is a non-profit organization that provides weddings or vow renewal ceremonies to couples facing terminal illness or other serious life-altering circumstances, regardless of sexual orientation.

Despite the snow and ice, over 300 vendors, donors and guests came out to help launch this amazing cause in New Jersey. Our very own Candice Benson serves as President of the NJ/NY Metro Chapter and was so impressed with the turnout and support. Candice and the board members worked hard to ensure that the launch brought awareness to the cause and would help raise funds for upcoming wishes. With their hard work, the night brought in thousands of dollars for the organization – what a great way to start out!

The venue, catering, decor, flowers, photography, linens and entertainment for the evening were donated, along with amazing items in the swag bags for the guests in attendance. Over 60 vendors donated their services and products for this incredible event. The event was covered by many aspects of the media including television, newspapers, magazines, podcasts and more.

We love pre-wedding parties!  They give the couple a chance to celebrate with family and friends without the formalities of the wedding day.  They also give the couple an opportunity to express themselves and do something unique and fun.  That’s why we were thrilled when our couple, Rosemarie and Robert, asked us to help them plan and design an all out engagement bash at the Palisadium in Palisades Park, NJ.

The couple wanted something romantic and fun with lots of sparkle.  To compliment the breathtaking NYC skyline views from the Palisadium’s wrap around windows, we created a romantic Victorian inspired event with a modern City Chic twist.

The event was announced with custom designed invitations from our Paperie team.  Silver embossed pockets were embellished with handmade crystal chiffon paper, black velvet ribbon, and gorgeous rhinestone vintage buttons.

We designed four coordinating table designs in pink, black, and silver with crystal and rhinestone accents.  Incredible flowers displayed throughout the room were provided by Santos Florist.  Our friends at Confectionary Designs outdid themselves with an absolutely gorgeous 4-tier cake with sugar pearl accents and custom heart cookie favors that complimented the donation made to the American Heart Association.

We congratulate this beautiful couple on their engagement and look forward to their wedding in June 2012!

We had the pleasure of planning a bridal shower with one of our favorite wedding professionals, Vandana Taneja of Vandana Jewelry, in honor of her sister-in-law, Rajni.  The shower had to be as stylish as the gorgeous Bride-to-Be so we designed the shower to have a chic Pink & Black French Couture theme.  Everything from the hand cut invitations to the bridal shower bingo cards were custom made to evoke an atmosphere of fashion, fun, and fabulousness.

Congratulations to Rajni and Harry who were married just a few weeks ago.  We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness.
