Invitation Spotlight: Domenique & Ryan

We had the pleasure of working with Domenique & Ryan for their amazing wedding in April at the beautiful Mallard Island Yacht Club on LBI. For their invitations, we created a two-layer invitation in cream matte and navy stock. This custom design featured a seahorse logo adorned with a pearl embellishment.

Three coordinating enclosure cards on textured matte stock included a directions/accommodations card,  reception card featuring an image of Mallard Island Yacht Club, and response card all printed in color laser. Coordinating outer envelopes in textured cream matte stock were created with the return address printed on the back flap.

We look forward to sharing more details from their amazing wedding day on April 14th – stay tuned!!

Special thanks to Yaskovic Wedding + Portrait for these great photos!

Invitation Spotlight: Alyssa & Stephen

We had the pleasure of designing custom invitations and stationery for our super fun couple, Alyssa and Stephen. This beautiful invitation was a 5×7 pocket in shimmer navy that was complemented with a shimmer quartz panel. The invitation design included modern fonts in navy print with yellow accents. Enclosure cards placed in the back pocket included the RSVP, directions and reception details and were printed on coordinating quartz paper.

Coordinating with the invitation design, custom menus were also created for each guest. For the reception, escort cards doubling as favor tags were made in a matching design and attached to caramel apples (yum!).

We wish all the best for Alyssa & Stephen!!

Special thanks to Yaskovic Wedding + Portrait and Captured by Izabela for these great shots!

Invitation Spotlight: Marissa & Jeremy

Glam-o-rous!

We loved designing this elegant glam invitation suite for our clients Marissa and Jeremy. We created a three layer invitation featuring their colors of purple, silver and white with black laser addressing.

The invitations were adorned with a silk ribbon and an ornate crystal teardrop that added to the design by creating a dramatic, elegant look. A coordinating two layer reception card and response card were also created to complement this stunning design. Vertical envelopes were designed with the ametrine shimmer and were sealed with white label bands.

We also had the pleasure of designing coordinating programs, menus, table numbers and favors for this glamorous couple – stay tuned for more details from their big day coming soon!

Special Thanks to Rob Yaskovic of Yaskovic Wedding + Portrait for these great shots!!

Invitation Spotlight: Yoori & Nick

This week’s invitation spotlight features our modern invitation suite for our super fun couple Yoori and Nick! Looking to have an elegant, crisp look with a modern twist we worked closely with them to come up with this custom design.

With their colors consisting of shades of purple and silver, we created a double layer invitation accompanied with directions, accommodations and RSVP cards. For the day of stationery, we created a two sided program written in both English and Korean, menus, table numbers and favor tags. Be sure to check back Wednesday for the feature on their wedding to see more fabulous details from their special day!

Special thanks to Robert Yaskovic from Yaskovic Wedding + Portrait for these great shots!

Invite Spotlight: Meredith and Greg

We loved creating this beautiful invitation suite for our clients, Meredith and Greg. With a rustic vibe and a subtle wine theme, we incorporated their colors of sage and berry throughout. Beginning with their custom Save The Date, we designed a magnet featuring a beautiful photo of the couple that was sent to their guests months in advance, given the popularity of a June wedding. For the invitation, we designed a classic, elegant look using a thick card stock and Letterpress printing. The added texture of the invite really added a unique and sophisticated touch. The Finishing Touch design team also created custom programs, escort cards and candy bar take away bags for the guests.

Special thanks to Rob Yaskovic from Yaskovic Wedding + Portrait for this great shot!

Diane & Ari – One Love, Two Faiths

Upon meeting with Diane & Ari two years ago, we were immediately drawn to their wedding vision and couldn’t wait to begin creating it for them. After pinning down a date (May 14, 2011) and venue (the gorgeous Stone House at Stirling Ridge) Diane and our team began to work together in creating a romantic and whimsical theme and before we knew it, their big day arrived!

Diane wore a beautiful red and gold sari accompanied with stunning jewels and traditional henna designs. Ari donned an authentic achkan sherwani suit along with a coordinating turban of red and gold.

Given that Ari is from Indian descent, the theme was centered on vibrant colors of fuchsia, orange and turquoise, keeping the style streamlined yet bold and colorful. To capture this theme, our design team created custom invitations and coordinating stationery to carry the color scheme throughout.

Some of our favorite weddings have very small and intimate bridal parties and this wedding had it all. A simple, yet meaningful bridal party, Diane asked her daughter to be maid of honor while Ari asked his brother to be his best man. Diane’s son (who had also recently married at the Stone House) was set to walk her down the aisle.

When planning an inter-faith wedding ceremony, especially Indian, there are a lot of factors to accommodate.  When guests first arrived at the Stone House, they were greeted by a large table offering various Indian sweets to snack on, as well as the Ganesh statue.

Guests waited with the bride’s family as Ari and his family was led into the foyer through floral curtains by a drummer. Guests were then treated to a traditional Indian wedding ceremony held before a large Mandap.

Afterward, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the entire bridal party did a quick wardrobe change. Exchanging her red sari, Diane donned a gorgeous ivory wedding gown and exchanged vows again on the outdoor terrace during a short, but sweet, Christian ceremony.

Our team and the Stone House staff worked quickly to transition the ballroom from the Indian ceremony to a reception ballroom. Below, Fiore Films (one of our favorite videographers!) shares a time lapse video showcasing the turnover:

The ballroom was completely converted into a very stylish and sultry ambiance, complete with crushed orange shimmer linen, luscious white floral centerpieces and deep amber up lighting. Fuchsia table numbers and orange tradition explanation cards were created by our design team for each table.  The escort cards, also created by our team, were hung on manzanita branches and were adorned with hanging crystals.

Channeling an authentic Indian wedding, guests were surprised with Barrat dancers performing and getting people out of their chairs to dance! DJ Raj played a mix of Indian & American music and kept guests dancing through the night.

Halfway through the reception, Diane had a third wardrobe change and surprised her new husband with another chic pink sari. Later in the evening, guests moved from their tables to either the lounge area created by Jersey Street Furniture or sat outside around the fire pit.

On their way out, guests were treated to a hot pretzel station, as well as a Moet Champagne split packaged beautifully in a pink votive holder wrapped with a good luck glass elephant charm.

It was a honor working with Diane & Ari and we wish them nothing but happiness & love!

In honor of Wedding Wednesday, let’s take a look back at their stunning NYC wedding that we were so honored to be a part of!

On a beautiful day in September, our couple Jillian & Alan held their exclusive wedding at the historic Puck Building in New York City. The day began with a photo session with Francesco Mastalia Photography. Jill & Alan saw each other for the first time that day on the rooftop terrace of their apartment building.

All eyes were on our gorgeous Bride as she walked down the aisle in her simple yet stunning ivory lace gown with her proud Father at her side.  Surrounded by their bridal party and covered by a white canopy, Jillian & Alan were married in a touching ceremony officiated by the charming Julie Laudicina.

The entire evening was one continuous cocktail hour with amazing food from Hudson Yards Catering which is owned by Danny Meyer of Union Square Cafe and Gramercy Tavern fame.  The event was kicked off with passed canapes such as Lobster and Watercress Dumplings and Truffled Mushroom Feuilette.  Guests were then treated to stations that ranged from genuine Blue Smoke Barbecue to mini modern presentations of raw bar selections including Union Square Cafe’s Crab and Endive Salad.

Dessert included a gorgeous wedding cake from The Painted Cake.  There was also a selection of delectable mini desserts such as mini ice cream cones and individual berry trifles.  The night was capped off by a late night snack of authentic miniature Shake Shack Burgers.

We believe that the most special events are those that have a personal touch.  Our very talented artist Bride painted a gorgeous water color of cherry blossoms.  This water color was used in everything from the invitations to being the inspiration for the Wedding cake design.
