TFT heads to Martha Stewart’s Wedding Party!

This past Sunday we had the pleasure of attending “Martha Stewart’s Wedding Party” at Gotham Hall in New York City, which was produced by Claudia Hanlin of The Wedding Library.  It was absolutely fantastic and we had such a great time!!

One of the event’s highlights was a panel discussion featuring some of the industry’s icons including the fabulous Floral and Event Designer Preston Bailey, Cake Designer and Expert Sylvia Weinstock, fashion designer Amsale Aberra and Darcy Miller, the editorial director at Martha Stewart Weddings and Celebrations.

We also really enjoyed Claudia’s discussion about the importance of the details in your wedding (of course!) as well as Sue Corral’s talk about branding your wedding.  It was all great information.

Throughout the day, we met fun brides and fell in love with so many awesome vendors, but one of our absolute favorites is Sandy Patangay, owner of Creme Delicious.  Her elaborate and scrumptious cakes are an amazing addition to any event.  Thanks Sandy for being so fantastic!

We look forward to attending the next Wedding Library event!

Jillian & Alan: An Ultimate New York City Wedding

Happy Anniversary to our couple Jillian & Alan!

In honor of Wedding Wednesday, let’s take a look back at their stunning NYC wedding that we were so honored to be a part of!

On a beautiful day in September, our couple Jillian & Alan held their exclusive wedding at the historic Puck Building in New York City. The day began with a photo session with Francesco Mastalia Photography. Jill & Alan saw each other for the first time that day on the rooftop terrace of their apartment building.

The couple then went on to pose for photos at iconic sites throughout the city.

The Bride & Groom and their bridal party stopped in Times Square to take some amazing photos including posing with members of the cast of Broadway’s Young Frankenstein!

Finally, it came time for their chic all-white ceremony at the Puck Building. As guests arrived they were greeted with sparkling water and beautiful classical music from The Schiller Quartet.

All eyes were on our gorgeous Bride as she walked down the aisle in her simple yet stunning ivory lace gown with her proud Father at her side.  Surrounded by their bridal party and covered by a white canopy, Jillian & Alan were married in a touching ceremony officiated by the charming Julie Laudicina.

For the reception, the blank canvas loft space overlooking the city was transformed into an ultra lounge atmosphere by Jersey Street Furniture Rental.  They created the look using sleek lounge furniture, illuminated tables, and flowing white drapings.

The room was decorated with stunning all-white centerpieces from Florisan that were draped with pearls.

The entire evening was one continuous cocktail hour with amazing food from Hudson Yards Catering which is owned by Danny Meyer of Union Square Cafe and Gramercy Tavern fame.  The event was kicked off with passed canapes such as Lobster and Watercress Dumplings and Truffled Mushroom Feuilette.  Guests were then treated to stations that ranged from genuine Blue Smoke Barbecue to mini modern presentations of raw bar selections including Union Square Cafe’s Crab and Endive Salad.

Dessert included a gorgeous wedding cake from The Painted Cake.  There was also a selection of delectable mini desserts such as mini ice cream cones and individual berry trifles.  The night was capped off by a late night snack of authentic miniature Shake Shack Burgers.

We believe that the most special events are those that have a personal touch.  Our very talented artist Bride painted a gorgeous water color of cherry blossoms.  This water color was used in everything from the invitations to being the inspiration for the Wedding cake design.

The gorgeous shimmery programs, menus, and signature cocktail signs were created by our design team and also showcased Jillian’s beautiful cherry blossom design.

The guests danced the night away to the band from Hank Lane and had a blast dressing up and taking fun photos in the photo booth from Party Booths.

What an amazing day for a truly special couple!  We wish them a life of love and happiness.

Royal Wedding Buzz with Candice on Contemporary Bride!

With just a few days left until the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, we are sure Kate has been following a beauty regimen to keep her hair, skin and nails in top form for the big day. Below Candice offers her suggestions for Kate before her wedding day, and, of course, any bride-to-be can follow this regimen.

As the center of attention on your wedding day, you want to make sure that you are fit and confident in your beautiful gown.
With so many details to think about, finding time to hit the gym may not be at the top of your priority list. But when you think about all the people who will be taking your picture that day, and the moments you will want to treasure in your album for a lifetime, making time to burn calories will become more important.

You should first set realistic goals. Then enlist your fiance or bridesmaids as your workout buddies. Choose something you will enjoy doing over the course of several months like yoga, pilates, belly dancing, swimming or biking. Try to incorporate thirty minutes of activity into your routine at least three times a week.

If you prefer a more rigid structure, join a boot camp or hire a personal trainer and nutritionist. Either way, get moving today, eat healthy and don’t forget to have fun! If you have any health conditions, be sure to check with your doctor before starting your exercise plan. Your hard work and discipline will pay off when you “wow” everyone on your wedding day.

Skin Care:

Skin care leading up to your wedding day is very important. Here are some tips to help you get your skin ready for your special day.

~ Sunscreen is an important part of any bride’s daily routine. To keep your skin beautiful in pictures, apply daily weeks before you say “I Do.”
~ Use products to help stabilize your current skin type versus relying cleansers and lotions that are no longer appropriate.
~ Leading up to and on your big day, keep your pout beautiful by applying a moisturizing balm with Shea Butter to soften lips and give them a soft, kissable look.
~ For ultimate wedding skin, consider a series of monthly facials to unclog pores, reduce fine lines, treat acne and even out skin tone up to six months in advance of your big day.
~ Do not experiment with new products and facials for the two weeks before your wedding.
It also never hurts to stay hydrated by drinking at least eight glasses of water per day. Remember, your skin will be your best accessory.

Your hairstyle will play a major role in your overall look on your wedding day. Here are some tips to consider as you finalize your look.

~ Decide on a hairstyle before you choose your veil or headpiece. Play with a few styles before finalizing your look.
~ Visit your hairstylist at least six months before the wedding to set up a hair care regimen.
~ Touch up your existing hair color two weeks before the wedding. Prepare a hair emergency kit for reception touch ups.
~ Think about whether your hairstyle will hold up at an outdoor wedding.
~ Match your hairstyle to your gown in degree of formality.
~ Consider extensions and hairpieces to add volume for special hairstyles.
~ Plan special hairstyles for the bridal shower and rehearsal dinner.
~ Get a final trim two weeks before the wedding.
~ Wear a buttoned-down shirt to your wedding day hair session.
~ Talk to your hairstylist to set a shampooing and conditioning schedule for the days before the wedding.
~ Invest in a good haircut. You’ll need less styling if you have a good foundation.
~ Decide if you will remove your veil after the ceremony. You’ll need to adjust your hairstyle accordingly.
~ Have your hairdresser practice with your veil and tiara.

Start thinking about how you would like your nails to look on your wedding day. Remember, your hands will be photographed during special moments, especially during the ceremony when you exchange your rings and during the reception when you are cutting the cake. Plus, your guests will be excited to see your new wedding ring throughout your day. Start getting weekly manicures about three months before your wedding date to get your nails in tip top shape.

~ Find a manicurist you really like and stick with that person leading up to your wedding. It will be important to find someone you trust so there will be no last minute surprises.

~ Determine the color and length you desire for your wedding day nails when you start meeting with your manicurist. You may want them short and square or long and oval. You may want to wear pink polish or get a french manicure. Try different colors on the days that you are getting fitted for your dress to see which look will work best.

~ Don’t forget to also get a pedicure. You may want to match the color that you are wearing on your fingernails, or go completely bold with a bright hue. Either way, your new hubby will appreciate the time you took to make sure you have soft feet and polished toenails on your wedding night.

Venue Spotlight- The Cosmopolitan ~ Las Vegas

Last week, TFT headed out west for an event and had the opportunity to check out some fab locations around Las Vegas. One of the hottest new spots that everyone is talking about is The Cosmopolitan, dubbed the ‘Sexiest’ hotel on the Strip! This amazing new property has an ultra cool vibe throughout and you never know what’s just around the corner.

Located right in the heart of the Strip, this unique luxury resort offers 52 stories of sophisticated rooms and suites. The guest rooms are really a sight to see!  Each room is fully equipped with amazing modern decor along with private terraces boasting unbelievable views of the Las Vegas skyline. Amenities also include living areas, Japanese soaking tubs, kitchenettes and mini-bars. Each room creates a comfortable vibe where you really feel like you’re ‘at home’.

Cool off and relax at one of their three stunning pool scenes, The Bamboo, The Boulevard or our favorite the Day Club pool complete with three-story bungalow lofts, cabanas and a party deck.

The Cosmopolitan has thirteen different restaurants on site so there is certainly something for everyone – from light French fare at Comme Ca, decadent steak dinners at STK, fine Mediterranean cuisine at Estiatorio Milos and more. These are all great spots to hold a rehearsal dinner, private party, or a girls/guys night out.

The resort also features amazing bars and lounges such as BOND, Vesper Bar and The Chandelier Room all with cutting edge, eye catching decor. Marquee, the popular nightclub will be launching an all-day club in October, where guests can dance all day and into the night.

Another unique feature at The Cosmopolitan is all of the stunning Art that is displayed throughout the resort. From the oversized Stilettos near the meeting rooms to the Art-o-Matic, (which dispenses pieces of art!) each piece really fits the classy yet laid back feel of the resort. Digital art featured at registration, constantly changes throughout the day and is always something to check out – while you’re checking in! Whether you know all or nothing about art, any guest can truly appreciate and enjoy these fine displays.

The Cosmopolitan has so much to offer and is definitely a must see during your next trip to Sin City!

Cocktails & Couture ~ An Evening of Fun, Food and Fashion

Recently, TFT hosted ‘Cocktails & Couture’, our annual client party for our current, past and future clients. We had such a blast with all of our guests and vendor friends that we had to share all of the amazing details!

The night kicked off at our new office in Millburn, where our guests were greeted with some champagne as they took a tour of the new space.  Once everyone was ready (and the champagne was gone!) we all headed around the corner to Exquisite Bride for an evening of
Cocktails & Couture!

Guests walked the red carpet as they entered the room which featured some fab furniture, compliments of Jersey Street Furniture Rentals. The rooms were adorned with fun floral pieces created by Floral Sentiments. Kevin of Platinum Entertainment, our ‘resident’ DJ and emcee, set the tone with some chart topping tracks.

Our bartender for the evening was Brandon from Flair Everything and he definitely added tons of flair. He served up some delicious signature drinks such as the TFTini, Blushing Bride and Diamonds are Forever. Everyone enjoyed watching him create the drinks just as much as they enjoyed drinking them!

Martini Bistro created some delicious fare for our guests to enjoy along with their cocktails -the spinach turkey wrap was a big hit! And for dessert? Extremely yummy and beautiful cupcakes and cookies from A Cake Dream! Check out these incredible red velvet and cream cheese cupcakes.

All of our guests mingled and had the chance to walk through the rooms of Exquisite Bride to see all of the stunning couture gowns and accessories. Exquisite’s designer shoes were on display as well which all the ladies in attendance had to check out! Bardot Lingerie also showcased a few of their sexy pieces from one of their collections.

Guests also had the chance to meet with Magda of Magda’s Designs for a free make up consultation! Also on hand was Kristina of Plumes in Bloom who creates gorgeous hair accessories. The whole TFT team rocked some of her hot designs – these are a must have- stay tuned for our Fab Find feature on them!

During the evening, we also held our ‘Newly-to-be-Wed’ Game, where engaged couples played for a chance to win an amazing wedding prize package. Our contestants did a great job answering questions about wedding facts, etiquette, celebrity weddings, fashion and more. After a few exciting rounds of competition, the final round was neck and neck and it went to ‘sudden death’!

Our grand prize winner was Jessica (pictured on left below with a shocked reaction!) who won planning services, an engagement photo session, musicians for cocktail hour, DJ entertainment for her reception, wedding day make up and hair, custom hair accessory, a cathedral length veil, and a sexy lingerie set! It was such a close game that our second place winner, Kristina, (pictured below on right) also took home a beautiful cathedral length veil.

There were lots of other fun raffle prizes such as dinner and an overnight stay at the Westminster Hotel in Livingston, handmade jewelry by Vandana, Vosges Chocolate gift box, family portrait session, custom art cookie certificate and more! Everyone in attendance received a fabulous gift bag filled with items from all of our sponsors as well as treats from Chocolate Bacio, W Hoboken, Creative Custom Card Boxes, and more! Each of our guests also made time for some fun photos to take home with them in our photo booth provided by Party Perfect Rentals.

It was an amazing evening and we are already looking forward to next year’s client party!

We had a great time planning and designing Sophia’s 1st Birthday bash! This little gal was such a sweetie – so naturally we went with a super fun candy and sweets theme!

Held at The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood, we had a blast designing the room with the pink, brown and white decor consisting of candy, flowers, balloons and more!

Check out some photos from this sugary sweet celebration –

Special thanks to our good friend David Toth for these fabulous shots!
