Old Bridesmaid Dresses Into Something New!

We have all seen the film 27 Dresses by now, and we know how it can be to have a closet full of bridesmaid dresses and nowhere to wear them all.

No need to worry!

Dessy Group has launched a new website called where you can send in your old bridesmaid gowns and receive credit toward new ones. You simply request a prepaid envelope from, package it according to the directions given and send over your old dress inside of it. Your dress can be designed by almost any brand, and as long as it is not damaged you will receive anywhere from 30-50% off towards one of their six black dress styles. After the discount, the six black dress styles cost around $75-$100 each. Your old bridesmaid dress will either be broken down and recycled or donated to Clothes4Souls.

This is a great chance to do some shopping, and help others and the environment all at once!

Super Sweet Bridal Shower!

We have had the pleasure of working with our lovely bride-to-be Rosemarie over the past year in bringing her big day together – so when we were asked to provide some decor for her beautiful bridal shower we were beyond excited! The TFT team created a custom candy bar and signage to complement the pink, sage and gold theme. It was an amazing event to be a part of and it was so great to see the bride-to-be so happy. Check out some pics of the dessert table and signage designed especially for Rosemarie’s bridal shower!

Wishing all the best for Rosemarie and Robert and looking forward to their big day on June 16, 2012!

“Should we create a wedding website for our guests?”

We often hear that question from our clients asking if it is necessary to create a site for the big day. Wedding websites are a definite ‘to do’ for couples as it provides a way for your family and friends to keep up to date with all of your wedding plans. Though it is not absolutely necessary, it certainly is the easiest way to keep everyone informed of all the latest happenings – and it can be super fun to create! Here are some tips on creating your perfect ‘I do-dotcom.’

Choose Your Host ~ Find the best web hosting site available to share your wedding details. Our top pick? Wedding Window! This site give you a ton of design options including custom colors, fonts and layouts! Wedding Window allows you to truly personalize your site and make it your own. Check out a demo from Wedding Window here!

WeddingWire also offers free wedding website templates from Vera Wang, Martha Stewart and more – check out some of their designs!

Share Your Story ~ You two are madly in love and crazy about each other…but we want to know how it happened! Tell the whole world your love story. Be sure to include how you met, when you fell in love and of course all of the proposal details!

Talk About Your Peeps ~ These are the people that have been standing next to you your whole life and will be standing next to you as you recite your vows. Create a section where you can talk about each member of your bridal party and how each of them have affected your life. This is a nice way to let them know how special they are to you and also an opportunity to introduce them to your guests.

Map it Out ~ List the accommodations available for your Out of Town guests as well as some fun things to do. Look into special discounts that may be available at local malls, museums or landmarks. You can also share places that are special to you and your fiance. Have your guests dine at your favorite restaurant or where you got engaged!

Fab Find: Pose Perfectly With Parasols!

One of the latest trends for Spring and Summer weddings is posing with some picture perfect parasols! These beautiful pieces can create unique and memorable photo ops at any location. Not only do they provide fabulous photos, but can be a great addition to offer to your guests. If you are having an outdoor affair where the sun may be a factor, consider having one available for each  guest to use -these make for a great favor or keepsake!

Looking for an eye catching color to provide some contrast with your bridal party? Talk with your planner about coordinating your parasol selections so they will be sure to complement your color scheme. For 2012, some of the hottest colors are pastels such as lilac and celedon as well as bright and vivid hues like electric pink and of course, Pantone’s color of the year tangerine tango. Check out some of our favorite shades that can be found on Cultural Intrigue.

We love the addition of parasols at weddings and events as they certainly add a very special touch! This great shot was taken by our good friends at The Studio Photographers at Mallard Island Yacht Club – how much fun is that?!

Jillian & Alan: An Ultimate New York City Wedding

Happy Anniversary to our couple Jillian & Alan!

In honor of Wedding Wednesday, let’s take a look back at their stunning NYC wedding that we were so honored to be a part of!

On a beautiful day in September, our couple Jillian & Alan held their exclusive wedding at the historic Puck Building in New York City. The day began with a photo session with Francesco Mastalia Photography. Jill & Alan saw each other for the first time that day on the rooftop terrace of their apartment building.

The couple then went on to pose for photos at iconic sites throughout the city.

The Bride & Groom and their bridal party stopped in Times Square to take some amazing photos including posing with members of the cast of Broadway’s Young Frankenstein!

Finally, it came time for their chic all-white ceremony at the Puck Building. As guests arrived they were greeted with sparkling water and beautiful classical music from The Schiller Quartet.

All eyes were on our gorgeous Bride as she walked down the aisle in her simple yet stunning ivory lace gown with her proud Father at her side.  Surrounded by their bridal party and covered by a white canopy, Jillian & Alan were married in a touching ceremony officiated by the charming Julie Laudicina.

For the reception, the blank canvas loft space overlooking the city was transformed into an ultra lounge atmosphere by Jersey Street Furniture Rental.  They created the look using sleek lounge furniture, illuminated tables, and flowing white drapings.

The room was decorated with stunning all-white centerpieces from Florisan that were draped with pearls.

The entire evening was one continuous cocktail hour with amazing food from Hudson Yards Catering which is owned by Danny Meyer of Union Square Cafe and Gramercy Tavern fame.  The event was kicked off with passed canapes such as Lobster and Watercress Dumplings and Truffled Mushroom Feuilette.  Guests were then treated to stations that ranged from genuine Blue Smoke Barbecue to mini modern presentations of raw bar selections including Union Square Cafe’s Crab and Endive Salad.

Dessert included a gorgeous wedding cake from The Painted Cake.  There was also a selection of delectable mini desserts such as mini ice cream cones and individual berry trifles.  The night was capped off by a late night snack of authentic miniature Shake Shack Burgers.

We believe that the most special events are those that have a personal touch.  Our very talented artist Bride painted a gorgeous water color of cherry blossoms.  This water color was used in everything from the invitations to being the inspiration for the Wedding cake design.

The gorgeous shimmery programs, menus, and signature cocktail signs were created by our design team and also showcased Jillian’s beautiful cherry blossom design.

The guests danced the night away to the band from Hank Lane and had a blast dressing up and taking fun photos in the photo booth from Party Booths.

What an amazing day for a truly special couple!  We wish them a life of love and happiness.

Happy 1st Anniversary Kelly & Rick!

Happy 1st Anniversary to our amazing couple Kelly and Rick! In honor of their anniversary,  take a look back at their beautiful wedding day at Giorgio’s Baiting Hollow in this little highlight video we created. Special thanks to our good friends over at The Studio Photographers for capturing these stunning shots. Congratulations also goes out to the couple as they welcomed their first son Andrew in August! Best wishes to the happy family!

On September 18th, Kelly McCreary and Rick Caso were wed at Giorgio’s Baiting Hollow out on Long Island. With the sun shining bright, the couple had the perfect weather for their outdoor ceremony. Surrounded by their family and friends, the couple had an an amazing ceremony out on the garden patio at Giorgio’s, overlooking the golf course.  The ceremony also featured a butterfly release in honor of Kelly’s late sister, Diana. It was such a beautiful touch – and an incredibly emotional moment. It was then off to the reception, where everyone was out on the dance floor dancing the afternoon away to celebrate the marriage of this special couple. The entire day was flawless and everyone had a great time! It was a pleasure working with Kelly and Rick – we wish them all the best!
