From ‘How To’ to ‘I Do!’ ~ Step 1: Hire Your Wedding Planner
Friday the 2nd of December
When a couple becomes engaged, a million things go running through their minds – from locations, dates, colors, budgets, food, entertainment – the list goes on and on. It is very easy to become overwhelmed quickly so it is important to set a starting point. Being a wedding planner, I knew exactly what we had to do first… hire our wedding planner! Which is exactly what we did.
After Greg proposed on the beach and we called some of our family and friends, we headed back to our house to share the great news. It just so happened that we were staying in LBI with TFT’s very own Candice and her family. Upon arriving back to the house, Candice was awake (and working of course!) and asked how watching the sunrise went to which I replied, ‘It was really nice, we even brought something back..’, and flashed my new bling. Candice jumped up to congratulate us – and yes we did the excited girly dance. I immediately asked, ‘So..are you available?’ and of course she said ‘Yes!’ and round two of the girly dance ensued. Once the tears and hugs were done, Candice invited us to a celebration breakfast at our favorite place in LBI, Chicken or the Egg aka Chegg. Over eggs and pancakes, she asked us some preliminary questions to help her gain a better understanding of how we envision our day. Although I had heard and asked these questions many times before, it was completely different being on the ‘other side’ and providing answers for all of them.
Hiring a wedding planner is a very important ‘to do’. Having a professional to help you along the way really provides a sense of ease throughout the entire process. From assisting with the budget and checklist to collaborating on the overall design and flow of the day, having your planner there each step of the way always pays off. Investing so much time, energy and money into the big day, we believe you should really enjoy your party with your family and friends and not have to worry about all of the little details. I never thought that planning my own wedding would be such a challenge but I am so lucky to have the best wedding planner in NJ guiding me right along – I don’t know what I would do without her. I know that Candice and The Finishing Touch team will continue to help me on this journey and pull off a fabulous wedding!
