Happy 1st Anniversary Tara and Roy!

Happy 1st Anniversary to our couple Tara and Roy! Tara and Roy were married at the beautiful Knoll Country Club in Parsippany, NJ – it was an amazing day with incredible details and has been featured on Style Me Pretty and in (201) Bride magazine! Let’s take a look back at their beautiful wedding day – we wish them all the best and very Happy Anniversary!

We were blessed earlier this year to work with our beautiful couple Tara and Roy who came to us from 3,000 miles away in Seattle, WA, to help bring the visions of their wedding day to life.

Tara and Roy, who goes by Trey to his friends and family,  had a wish for a unique, fun, fresh, elegant and whimsical wedding.  As they were located so far away and only made it to NJ a couple of times, we were challenged with coming up with multiple design ideas before ultimately landing on the perfect fit for their big day.

We were so excited to work along side some of our favorite wedding professional partners, including Frank from The Studio Photographers who captured the beautiful details.

Couple

The first step in the planning journey was to find the perfect venue in NJ, where both Tara and Roy grew up.  The pair have lots of family members in the tri-state area and thought it would be the best place to say their “I Do’s.”  After scouting out several locations, it was decided that The Knoll Country Club in Parsippany was the ideal place.  Tara wanted her guests to have several different experiences throughout the event, and The Knoll offered exactly what she was looking for.  Sitting on top of a lush green golf course with a gorgeous white tent for the cocktail hour and beautiful reception room with panoramic views, it was the perfect setting.

The FT Design team set out to create the perfect stationery for the day, starting with the invitation.  A special iconic motif was custom designed that was used to tie all of the elements together from the invitation to the programs.  The green color of the motif was used throughout the affair, along with accents of chocolate brown, and Sue from The Romantic Garden made gorgeous vibrant bouquets and centerpieces, with pops of pink and peach.

On the wedding day, the excited bride arrived to The Knoll with her bridal party to get their hair and make-up done by one of our favorite people, Magda from Magda Designs.  As always, Madga did a fabulous job and our bride was stunning!  Wishing Tara and Trey the very best, the bridesmaids had a quick celebratory toast before lining up for the ceremony.

Tara and Trey’s almost 200 guests were greeted upon arrival by champagne as they settled into their seats outside at the gazebo where the weather was absolutely gorgeous.  Cristina, the officiant from Inclusive Ceremonies, presided over the evening ceremony where the couple wrote their own heartfelt vows.  As a surprise to Trey, Tara’s sister and Matron of Honor sang an acapella rendition of “The Way I Am” by Ingrid Michaelson.  After our couple was pronounced husband and wife, guests showered them with rose petals, something that we arranged as a surprise for the bride.

After a fun cocktail hour where Royal Violins played everything from jazz to pop songs, guests were ready to continue the celebration at the reception.  The DJ’s were Keith Wilhelm Son & Lyn Rick Rhyme who played everything from Motown, to calypso to swing and had the dance floor packed and grooving the entire night.  The reception kicked off with Tara and Trey’s perfectly choreographed first dance to “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” covered by Andre Bocelli.  There was also a special video put together by Tara’s sister Catherine, which featured Tara and Trey from childhood.  It was a touching tribute of their love set to music, and the guests really enjoyed it. Throughout the reception, guests enjoyed the couple’s signature cocktail “Summer Soiree”.  Guests also  loved the red velvet wedding cake that donned a fun retro cake topper along with the massive (and yummy) dessert display.

The great love that Tara and Trey share was clearly evident throughout their entire wedding.  We wish them a long and happy life together filled with everything wonderful!!

Michael Kors Ties the Knot!

TFT loves us some Michael Kors!

So we were thrilled to hear the fashion designer and Project Runway judge tied the knot with his longtime partner Lance LePere!

The ceremony was held this Tuesday on a private beach in Southhampton, NY that was officiated by Southhampton Mayor Mark Epley. The two met back in 1990 when LePere was an intern at Kors company. “To marry someone as wonderful and special to me as Lance, barefoot on a glorious beach, is more than I could have dreamed of”, says Kors as he posted this photo below of the two following the ceremony. Congratulations Michael and Lance!!

TFT Stationery featured in New Jersey Bride!

What’s peacock, honeysuckle and published??? TFT’s custom invitation!

Check out New Jersey Bride‘s peacock and honeysuckle inspiration board where they share some items they love.

We absolutely adore a fun peacock theme! It provides a wide variety of striking color combinations that are beautiful and bold.
We chose to feature this year’s hottest color, Honeysuckle, and accent it with a deep Cyan and Aquamarine. The best part about these colors is that they also compliment numerous shades and tones, which can be incorporated through florals and decor and still coordinate with the Honeysuckle/Peacock theme. Adding an actual peacock feather to elements of the decor is also a great accent – from your bouquet, centerpieces or even a fabulous pair of stilettos!

Fab Find: Cinderollies

OK ladies, now we can all agree that many of us have a bit of a..well..a shoe obsession.  When we get that perfect pair that completes an outfit (or creates an outfit!), we will walk around for hours in our stunning stilettos. And although we love every minute of showing off our fab heels…we may not be loving all the stress they cause on our arches by the end of the evening.

That’s why this week’s fab find is truly a wish come ‘shoe’!

Cinderollies are super cute rollable, compact ballet flats that can fit right into your purse to relieve you whenever you have had enough of your heels! These are a must have! These are also perfect gifts for the gals in your bridal party – something for them to slip into on the dance floor.

We love love love Cinderollies – be sure to get your feet a pair!

Kisha and Muchoki-Summer Love Brooklyn Style

Our couple Kisha and Muchoki came to us five weeks before their big day and wanted us to put the finishing touches on their chic affair. Our beautiful Bride and her Groom dated and fell in love in Brooklyn, NY so they chose trendy Williamsburg as the location for their summer nuptials.

The wedding also boasted a Brooklyn theme with the bridge appearing on the invitations and their reception tables were named after areas of the borough. The color scheme of the event was a classic purple and white combination.

The ceremony and reception took place at My Moon, which used to be a boiler room for a former factory. Elements of the original boilers still accentuate this unique space. Run by its upbeat and easy to work with manger Kenan, the venue has an award-winning menu featuring Mediterranean dishes with a Turkish twist. The challenge for this event was that the space accommodates about 140 people, and we were hosting more than 200. We knew that staying organized and working closely with Kenan was going to be the way to make it all seamless.

The ceremony was held on the outside deck of the restaurant and we worked with the florist at Graceful Gardens to create a beautiful arch that set the stage. The groom’s aunt Rev. Bobb presided over the ceremony and gave the couple and the guests moving and inspirational words of wisdom. The couple opted for unity sand instead of candles to avoid them being outed by the wind, and an opera singer did a beautiful rendition of Ave Maria.

After the ceremony the couple was whisked away in their limo to take pictures at the piers while guests enjoyed the cocktail hour. When they returned the reception began. Centerpieces were beautiful white peonies with greenery, and the monogrammed wedding cake was a delicious red velvet confection. The groom’s cake was a traditional West Indian cake. The DJ spun hit songs including key Stevie Wonder tunes throughout the evening, and at the end of the night guests still lingered wanting to enjoy more.

The event was a fantastic success. This was such a fun event for a truly beautiful couple. We wish you all of the very best that we are sure life has in store for you.

With Love,

Soroya and TFT Team
