2011 Color of the Year Revealed!
Friday the 10th of December
Global color authority, Pantone, announced yesterday the color of the year for 2011 – Honeysuckle! The reddish pink color according to Pantone, “lifts spirits and imparts confidence to meet life’s ongoing challenges.” While 2010′s color of the year, Turquoise, represented escaping everyday challenges, Honeysuckle provides energy to help overcome challenges head on.
The color is a wonderful hue for romantic, fun weddings and makes a perfect accent color when you just want a burst of color to enliven a neutral palette. We could see this color being used in all different styles of weddings ranging from garden soirees to sleek lounge fetes.
We foresee this color becoming a popular choice for bridesmaid dresses, flower-girl sashes, and groomsmen ties. It has already been added to Pantone Wedding Colors available from Dessy, a leading manufacturer of bridesmaid, social occasion, and flower-girl dresses. See www.dessy.com for more information.
Celebs are wasting no time! Honeysuckle has already been seen on the red carpet worn by fashionistas such as Kate Bosworth, Liz Hurley, Rosario Dawson and more. Check out fashion icons Blake Lively, First Lady Michelle Obama and Gwyneth Paltrow who we caught rockin’ the color of 2011!
