Transform Yourself into a Celebrity with

This is a really fun tool. allows you to download pictures of yourself and use their clipart backgrounds to insert your photo. One of our newly engaged clients, Ro and Robert,  took one of their engagement pictures and put themselves on a  Times Square billboard.  We thought it would be great to see how Candice, our fabulous leader, would look being  shown off to the paparazzi in the hands of Paris Hilton. So fun!!

Sweet Views of Manhattan

This past Wednesday evening we took a trip to the beautiful space, Harborside Creative Catering at 34 Exchange Place, Jersey City, for The Cake-Off  Kick Off.  This wonderful event was sponsored by the ISES NJ North Chapter and  featured bakers from New Jersey fighting for the title of best tasting and best designed cakes.

We fell in love with this venue as soon as we stepped outside and saw the amazing skyline of Manhattan.  The event was wonderfully catered by Harborside Creative Catering and the amazing sweets were a treat for us all.

TFT’s Most Beautiful Cake award went to Sue’s Sweets by Susan Martino. We thought her cake was the most elaborate and stunning.

The TFT’s Most Delicious Award went to The Hudson Cakery by Jennifer Bunce. Her chocolate peanut butter combo was to die for!

President Jackie Marko of the NJ North ISES chapter, alongside the mayor of Jersey City Jeremiah Healy,  did a faboulous job hosting the event.  Congrats to Richard O’Malley of  The O’Malley Project and Christine Bower for organizing the Cake-Off Kick Off.

Best Tasting Cake – Sabrina Kuratana, A Cake Dream LLC

Best Cake Design – Elena Shumskaya, The Fine Art of Cakes

What a fun night.  As usual, it is always great to catch up with our friends and colleagues at these events. We all know how to have a great time.  A big thanks to Harborside Creative Catering. You are definitely a sweet spot in Jersey City for events!

Who Knew J.Crew Did Wedding Dresses???

Recently, we had the honor of assisting a Bride with preparations for her second marriage ceremony.  Although her second wedding, she of course wants to feel special in a beautiful white wedding dress for her small and intimate ceremony in Newport, Rhode Island.

In search for that perfect dress, she made a visit to the new J.Crew Bridal Boutique in Manhattan (located at 769 Madison Avenue). Upon her arrival, she was met by a wonderful staff that met her every need. They had gorgeous dresses ranging in price from $295-$3,000. She fell in love with a style, ordered it and it will conveniently be shipped to her home (free shipping for any purchase over $100). The store also specializes in veils, jewelry, accessories and bridesmaids dresses. What could be better then the fabulous stylings of J.Crew for your wedding.

TFT certainly says I do to J.Crew!!!

Vote for The Finishing Touch in the Riedel Crystal Tablescape Challenge

The Finishing Touch was honored to have been chosen by Riedel Crystal and Brides Magazine for their  tablescape contest featured in Brides Magazine’s website section “First Look”.   Each team was allowed $500 of Riedel Crystal. Our lead designer, Priscilla got right to work and chose from several of their stunning collections.

The beautiful Vinum Pink Champagne flutes were used to create a light pink mood for our tablescape in honor of  Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  She also used her creativity and turned the chip n dip upside down to prop up the beautiful Nachtman basket weave vase filled with gorgeous pink roses.

All of the elements came together and we finished with a potential prize winning tablescape.  Thanks to Lynn Jawitz at Florisan for designing the beautiful floral centerpiece.   Also, a big shout out to The Studio Photographers in Millburn for capturing the perfect pictures as always!

Please click on our link below and vote for the TFT tablescape and enter yourself to win 6 Champagne Flutes and $1,000 worth of Riedel wedding decor.

TFT at Fashion’s Night Out NYC!

On Friday night, Nicole and I took part in Fashion's Night Out in New York City! FNO is a global celebration of fashion that was created last year to boost the industry's economy and to raise funds for charity. This year's slogan,"Shop.
For Something Good.", hoped to promote sales and
participating retailers donated 40% of the night's sales to the New York City AIDS Fund. FNO
was also held in 14 other countries around the world, as well as
retailers across the US.
Fashion's Night Out also marks the start of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC.

Nicole and I stepped out on the red carpet that lined the Channel Gardens heading into Rockefeller Center. With live fashion presentations by models along the way, we got an exclusive look at some of the season's up and coming fashion trends. We then headed down into the Rink Bar to catch live performances by the Brooklyn-based bands Bear Hands, Brahms and Savoir Adore. After enjoying a few songs, we worked our way back onto 5th Avenue to hit up some of our favorite places.

We started off at Juicy Couture, where male models greeted us with champagne as we browsed some of their newest handbags and jewelry. All along 5th Avenue, the store windows were transformed into live scenes with real models! There were scenes featuring a Marie Antoinette, live body painting, and even models showering! Tiffany's & Co. had Audrey Hepburn look-a-likes greeting guests and taking photos as they entered. Many of the retailers were offering discounts and had great giveaways like runway survival kits, FNO tote bags, t-shirts and more. There were also DJ's spinning hits in almost every store we entered, making all of 5th Avenue have a 'fashion street party' atmosphere.

Nicole and I made a quick stop at Bergdorf Goodman where celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham and Mary J. Blige made appearances. After doing a little shopping at Armani/5th,we learned of the Armani Ristorante, which overlooks 5th Avenue featuring modern Italian decor and offers cuisine from chef Lorenzo Viani. We then headed into Gucci, where we ran into Kim Kardashian who was shopping with her sister Kourtney and their mom Kris – along with five of their bodyguards! Next,
we visited Prada, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Saks Fifth Avenue and Escada.
We also made sure to stop at Salvatore Ferragamo – Candice's favorite!

All of that shopping made us hungry so it was off to Little Italy for dinner! We enjoyed authentic Italian cuisine at Paesano's of Little Italy, along with a nice glass of red wine. The streets of Little Italy were all decorated for the upcoming San Gennaro Festival-which we are certainly looking forward to!  After our delicious meal we headed back up to 230 Fifth, which features a rooftop lounge that offers unbelievable views of the city. (Stay tuned for a blog featuring this space!) It was then time to head home and kick off our heels after all of the night's events!

We had an amazing time and it was truly a unique and fun way to give back. Fashion's Night Out was a fabulous experience and we are already looking forward to attending next year!

Be sure to check out the CBS special on this year's Fashion's Night Out which will air on Tuesday, September 14th at 10:00 PM EST!

With Love and Style,

Nicole and Stephanie
